A one-of-a-kind event for Tulsa Botanic Garden, BOTANICAL! ‘A Weekend of Culinary Wonder’ is a 3-day exploration of the way food, drink, and the land intersect. Each year, we base our theme on a celebrated gastronomic region of the world and explore its every aspect in spirit and in taste with a renowned chef. Proceeds from all Botanical! events benefit Tulsa Botanic Garden, a non-profit organization.
In April 2019, we explored the historical area of Iberia, spanning the rich and exotic cultures of Spain, and Portugal.
We are proud to have featured James Beard and Food & Wine award-winning Chef Jamie Bissonnette of restaurants in Boston, NYC, Dubai, and Thailand (Toro, Little Donkey, Coppa). He prepared food for this event with the help of students and professors of OSUIT School of Culinary Arts, Portuguese cookbook author Gabriella Opaz, and BOTANICAL! Creative Director Rob McKeown. Other gastronomic partners included Glacier Confection, Formaggio Kitchen and Heritage Foods USA.
