The Symposium + Tasting – Sunday, April 28, 2019 • 1 – 4pm
Curated to balance scholarly ideas and culinary obsession, this event brings together the narratives and ideas behind Botanical! Weekend and looks at them through the lens of food, landscape, cuisine, and gardens. The afternoon is structured as an exploration of food and thought, and begins with talks on the theme of identity and culture by Portuguese cookbook author Gabriella Opaz and Oxford Food Symposiast and Beautiful Rice director Rob McKeown.
Talks will finish with a short Q & A. Afterward, participants will take their seats for The Tasting where David Robinson from Boston’s renowned Formaggio Kitchen will discuss featured Spanish and Portuguese artisan cheeses, oils, vinegars, cured meats, and more, almost all hard-to-find farmhouse products not available in Oklahoma or even the US.
The Symposium + Tasting is limited to 100 people.
Registration is $65 for Tulsa Botanic Garden members; $75 for non-members.
